I’m Visible
A church parking lot turns into a traffic jam during a holy day. Double the people means double the vehicles. Easter Sunday is no exception, due to people arriving and leaving at the same time.
Handicap parking spaces are at a premium during this time as well.
We always arrive at least an hour early just to get a parking space and a seat in our paid for pew. Lol
One of the Sunday greeters usually saves seats for us although that can’t be reciprocated outside.
After mass, being that my husband has to fight the crowd to retrieve my wheelchair we usually can miss a lot of the crowd fighting to get out quickly.
As we approached are car, someone with a large truck had parked in the striped spot in between the two handicap spots. There was a handicap tag on the mirror, so you would think that the driver would know that it is against the law to park in between two spots. Granted, I don’t know the disability level for the person driving, just as they are not aware of my disability and that I require the striped space to safely transfer from the wheelchair to the car seat.
This incident caused as much irritation as when someone without a tag or plate parks where they know they shouldn’t.
I try to give the benefit of the doubt in most cases, for the sake of my own sanity, nevertheless, this one takes the cake!
