Hurry Up and Wait!
I live in a constant state of unrest.
Waiting to see a doctor:
It doesn’t matter if I am a new patient or an existing one, the next available follow-up appointment is a month away.
Waiting to fill a prescription:
This issue has actually improved, other than the process of a new authorization approval. I use a mail order script service for some of my medications and a nearby pharmacy for others.
Waiting for the medication to work:
Some medications work immediately, while others could take up to six weeks to be affective. I never seem to know if an issue has improved on its own or the drug is doing its job.
I take six oral prescription medications and several supplements every day.
Waiting for a medical test that may or may not show anything anyway:
I can’t even tell you how many MRI’s, CT Scans, Ultrasounds and blood tests I have endured over an eighteen year period. I am not a drug addict, but my veins say otherwise.
I will play this waiting game for the rest of my life.
