Recently my “angel” that I spoke about in a post from several months ago was in an automobile crash on Smoky Hill road. Although she did not cause the accident she received several injuries including a broken tibia. She was in a rehab facility for a month and will not be able to return to work until October.

So rather than train a new care giver, we decided to go a few weeks without help. Well, that didn’t last very long. My oldest daughter offered to come down once a week to do laundry and make meals for the week.

Turns out, she was considering going back to work part-time now that her boys are older and are responsible enough to handle one day of home schooling on their own.

I was surprised that she would want to drive and pay tolls each week, but it has been a god send. She enjoys coming down and it has given me the opportunity to get to know her all over again. So, a win, win for me and for her!

Asking for help from family and friends is a tough decision for me. Definitely a learning process. I need to remember that someone helping me gives them the opportunity to feel wanted and needed.
