Lost and Found
A little different subject today but still very important.
Several weeks ago my husband and I were in the garage with the door open. He was under my daughter’s car changing the oil and I was reading a book enjoying a cool afternoon.
I heard a noise and looked up to see a small boy about 3 years old running down the street with only socks on and a lovey in his hand. It looked like he was on a mission and I assumed that his mom or dad was close behind. But no, he was completely alone. I got his attention and said “hey buddy, where are you going?”
He replied “to the park.” The nearest park was at least a half mile away. So I asked him if he had someone with him, but he only looked confused and said again “going to the park.” I got my husband’s attention and he was able grab his hand and ask him a few more questions as they headed back the other direction towards where a community picnic was winding down. Two ladies approached my husband and led the little boy back to hopefully where his parents were.
This incident totally frightened me as there are so many kids that get lost and are not always found. Little ones have a mind of their own and don’t think about what can happen. This little guy just wanted to go to the park.
