My quote for today:
(If I woke up in the morning and nothing hurt,
I would think I was dead.)
For most people, even those of us with chronic illness and pain, it is something that never completely goes away. We become immune to the worst of it and fight on.
My MS is the exact opposite. If I wake up in the morning with no pain it is a strong hint that something is very wrong. Either my Baclofen pump has defaulted or I have developed yet another infection. In some alternate universe this can be a good thing as I don’t experience normal symptoms from a UTI and could go for weeks unaware that something is off in my body.
A week ago I had just finished a five day round of antibiotics for a UTI, dropped off a urine sample to be tested, and what do you know I still had a bacteria that required a different antibiotic. It was a good thing that I didn’t assume the previous infection was gone because I woke the next morning with extreme weakness and fainting spells every time I was transferred. Definitely not my normal. A sure sign that something was not quite right. So five more days of the chalky horse pill.
A big concern is how many times in a year a person can use antibiotics before they don’t work anymore?
I suppose I will find the answer to that question in the future if I stay on this road to nowhere.
