Went to a movie last Friday afternoon, something we rarely do. I order tickets online so that I can reserve seats in the accessible location. The seats are never sold out but it is wise to reserve just in case. There is a wheelchair spot open with a companion seat next to it.  When we arrived we decided to park the chair and use two reclining seats adjacent to each other as the row was completely open. A few minutes before the start of the show a gentleman came over and said that my husband was in his seat and could he move. We suggested that he could take one of the empty seats next to us since I was already reclined in the companion seat. He totally refused so my husband had to sit in my wheelchair so he could be next to me.

Ten minutes into the show I heard noises next to me. Believe it or not the man was fast asleep and snoring loudly. 20 minutes later he flew out of the chair and ran out of the theater then ran back in, I assume to use the facilities. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think he was handicapped at all and was just being rude.

Next time, if there is one, I will make sure to reserve two reclining seats together. Live and learn!
