Heat!
Summer heat can affect everyone differently, but when you have MS it can become a challenge to stay cool to prevent a symptom flare.
Anything below 80 degrees with low humidity is perfectly doable for me. If either temperature is higher my best bet is to stay indoors, which can’t always be an option.
Even when I am inside a rise in humidity or a change in the barometer can affect me negatively. I become extremely weak and fatigued. My legs turn to jello and I am put out of commission.
The temperatures in Colorado have remained in the low to high 90’s this summer with low humidity unless there is a chance of rain, then I am hit with a double whammy.
We have a trip planned for Wichita, Ks soon and I am prepared for high temps and humidity. I am grateful that the conference we attend is an indoor event and the hotel we stay at is attached to the conference hall, thus avoiding any outside distractions.
Stay cool warriors!
