We had plans for a five hour drive to attend a funeral last  week. On Tuesday I awoke with complete loss of my legs and fainting whenever being transferred. My first thought was “oh great another UTI”. Luckily I had a supply of an antibiotic on hand for emergencies. I began taking it that day and by Wednesday I was better and ready for our trip. When we returned I paid a visit to my urologist  to be tested. The dip test came back pretty normal so I assumed that that the antibiotic was working. My last dose was on Monday morning. I received the results of the culture that afternoon and what do you know I still had bacteria that required a different antibiotic. So now I have five more days to destroy my kidneys again. 

It seems to me that after reading so many posts from other MS patients who have multiple UTI’s that there is a relationship between something that we are taking or doing that causes us to be more susceptible to infections in our bladder. Just another MS mystery.
