A Choice
A member of our family is currently struggling with chemotherapy for tumors in his lungs and lymph nodes. He has recently begun to lose a lot of weight and his hair. He is barely recognizable from the man who started this fight several years ago. He posts updates on his Facebook page. It is not just about cancer but about the love and support he receives from friends and family.
Most of us would choose not to publicize our struggles with disease openly as he has done. I believe he realizes that his postings could possibly help another who might be experiencing the same struggle.
We all have choices in life but sometimes it is not up to us to decide what we will accept and what we won’t and how we use that choice.
This is exactly why I choose to discuss my disease with others. Multiple Sclerosis has been with me a long time and if I only help one person to feel less isolated and alone it will be worth it to share on a social forum such as Facebook and Multiple Sclerosis Resources and Education.
