I’m Sick
I have been prone to UTI’s for most of my adult life.
I have tried home remedies, cranberry juice, supplements and long term antibiotics, with little success. Sometimes I have obvious symptoms and at other times none whatsoever. It has been frustrating for me and my urologist. The last supplement that I tried is D-Mannose. Recently, the UTI’s have slowed to only 2-3 a year.
Last week I began having lower abdominal pain, which can be caused by a multitude of things related to MS. Just to be safe, I dropped off a sample to be tested. What do you know, another UTI. A good thing I did because the very next day I experienced a pretty severe MS flare. Weakness in my legs, dizziness, nausea and low blood pressure and fainting. All of this can be attributed to an infection not related to MS. After a four day dose of yet another antibiotic I have slowly gained back what I lost last week.
Even a cold, flu, internal temperature or IV steroid can produce a symptom increase in what I deal with everyday.
I have to be on constant guard and awareness of changes in my normal so I don’t have to accept a new normal.
